Q: What is a NetPerformer Data and Voice Router?
A: The NetPerformer series of products allow modern IP networking with the addition of legacy serial data whether Async or Sync. The NetPerformer series also allows legacy analog voice with FXO, FXS and E&M interfaces. Support is also available for digital voice with a multitude of signaling support. The optional SkyPerformer software allows the NetPerformer series to be optimized for Microwave and Satellite networks.

 


Q: Is the NetPerformer series the same product from several years ago?
A: Yes, the NetPerformer has been purchased by several companies in the past including ACT networks, Clarent and Verso. The Product has been updated over the years and continues to be developed and supported due to its popularity and versatility.

Q: Does the NetPerformer support Satellite and Microwave Networks?
A: Yes, this is the NetPerformers strongest feature. With the optional SkyPerformer software, the NetPerformer can support Point to Point and Multipoint networks including SCPC and TDMA.

 


Q: Does the NetPerformer support Fax ?
A: Yes:

FAX Relay: Group 3 FAX over PowerCell. Super G3 configurable to pass through or fallback to G3. Group 4 FAX and other non-voice bearer ISDN channel at 64K

 


Q: Does the NetPerformer support Modem applications ?
A: Yes,

Modem Relay: V.32bis demodulation up to 14.4Kbps, STU-III secure phones over PowerCell, modem pass through (G.711) for other modems

Digital CAS Signaling types: Immediate, Wink, FXO, FXS, FXO ground, FXS ground, E1/R2 (compelled, semi-compelled, DTMF), PLAR, custom (9230 only)

A: Yes, the SDM-9220, SDM-9230 and SDM-9600 support -48vdc power.  The SDM-8400 only supports AC power.

 


Q: Does the NetPerformer support power redundancy ?
A: Yes, the SDM-9600 central high density chassis support dual -48vdc power supplies.





Q: Does the NetPerformer support ATM?
A: Yes, the SDM-9230 and SDM-9600.

 


Q: What type of Voice Compression does the NetPerformer support?
A:

Voice compression algorithms (5 channels per DSP):
ACELP-CN (8K/6K), LDCD (16K), G.711, G.723.1, G.726,

Q: Does the NetPerformer support Data Compression?
A: Yes,

- Without compression: Up to 8 Mbps RX and 2 Mbps TX using serial port on base unit, 2 Mbps for next two optional serial ports

- With data compression: Up to 2.048 Mbps

SDM-9230

- Without compression: Up to 8 Mbps using serial port on base unit, 2 Mbps for next two optional serial ports

- With data compression: Up to 4.096 Mbps
