These products allow Ethernet (IP) to work over legacy TDM networks or provide some form of media or interface conversion. Legacy TDM networks include xDSL, fiber, E1, T1, SONET, SDH, OC-3 or STM-1. These products are available in standalone and high density platforms.
These products transport Ethernet/IP data over traditional TDM data circuits such as T1, E1, or DS-3. They are extremely cost effective solutions for applications that do not require routers. For example, you may have T1 or E1 data circuit between two locations and you want to use them to carry IP traffic. By hooking up a Ethernet over TDM device on each side, this T1 or E1 datacircuit will now carry IP traffic.
These products transport Ethernet/IP data over fiber optic circuits. They are extremely cost effective solutions for applications that do not require complicated equipment. In addition, they address more complex applications where a traditional media converter does not provide the features or distance.
These products transport Ethernet/IP data over traditional copper wire lines. They utilize xDSL technology to provide extended distances beyond the UTP category cable limitations of 100 meters.
These products have the same functionality as the Ethernet over TDM and Copper as shown above, but they are in a compact SFP format for use in switches, routers or most any SFP compliant equipment.
